A nifty tool to record steps to reproduce a problem

Today’s post is credited to Levi Hawes from our Customer Support team for bringing this to our attention. It was so cool, I just had to share.

Have you ever wanted to send someone steps to do something or illustrate an issue through screenshots but didn’t want to take the time? Microsoft has built in a utility that will do most of the work for you. It’s called record steps to reproduce a problem and is incredibly useful. Once you launch it hit the record button and start your steps. When you are done “stop recording” and save the zip file. Now open the zip file and then open the containing file, be impressed. You will find screenshots and a text log of the steps you took while recording. This works in windows 7 and server 2008 R2.
